The House
Catch up with friends before an open fire in the living room. Read your favourite book in a cosy study which also has a fireplace and computer. Colina Verde has a massage room, a game room with a pool table, a gym and space for yoga or meditation. Step outside onto the decks to spectacular 360° views and soak in the ocean or the dune forest.
The Area
Colina Verde is Portuguese for green hill. Situated at the top of a remote and stunning dune, it is on the peninsula of Machangulo, in Southern Mozambique adjacent to Inhaca Island in the Bay of Maputo. The total area of Machangulo Reserve covers 10,000 hectares (24,710 acres), with a rugged 20 kilometre (12.4 miles) of Indian Ocean coastline. The 120-meter (394 foot) high dune habitats include coastal dune forest, mangrove and inland freshwater lakes.

Be sure to include plenty of time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Machangulo. Those with an adventurous nature will enjoy our long list of activities from board games by the fire to deep sea fishing or sand boarding.
Dining
Our cuisine is lovingly prepared by our chef utilizing fresh and healthy local ingredients. Our menu has an emphasis on seafood and includes elements from our own vegetable garden when in season. Meals are served at different locations around the house and are always an occasion. Everyday we serve an afternoon cake daily in the lobby and tempting bites served with sundowner cocktails in the evenings. Guests can help themselves to Nespresso coffee and a wide selection of teas whenever they wish. Dietary accommodations can be made upon request at time of booking.
Our Team
Graham and Lucy are the management couple. They will take care of you during your stay with the invaluable help of their local team.
You will be greeted by shy smiles and a warm Mozambican welcome from our housekeepers and maintenance staff, many of whom were involved in building the house.
Graham grew up in Zambia, Portugal and Mozambique. His love for fishing started early with regular fishing trips with his father to the lower Zambezi. He completed a B.SC in Zoology and Ocean and Atmosphere Science in Cape Town and then followed his passion and became a fishing guide, he has guided in many parts of the world including Zambia, Mozambique, Seychelles, Maldives and Mexico.
Lucy is originally from Wales and studied art at Goldsmiths before spending several years working with galleries in London. A keen horse rider from a young age, in 2006 she took some time out to volunteer with rescue horses in Central Mozambique. When the horses moved to Vilanculos and Benguerra Island, she followed them, and, luckily for Graham, she has never left!
