A giant trevally first tagged by Graham Pollard in June 2019 on a reef off Santa Maria has now been recaptured twice—by Barry de Beer in August 2022 and again in April 2024 by an angler on Branden Brodell’s boat. Remarkably, all three encounters took place on the same reef, offering rare insight into the species’ site fidelity and resilience. This incredible story was recently featured in Ski-Boat Magazine (June 2025), celebrating the value of catch-and-release fishing and long-term conservation efforts in our local waters.
